Melanin caused by exposure to the sun (like freckles or age spots). Try a product for alleviating liver spots (anti aging products mostly). They often occur during the summer or in pregnancy due to hormonal changes. Try staying out of the sun & consult you doctor if worried at all.

depending on age, more than likely it could be what is called an age spot. it is caused by the sun, there are ways to diminish the dark look to it.
