Are you near a good boxing gym? Ask Dad to come along and talk to the trainers. Newbies do not spar right away, and any gym that throws a newbie into the ring should be avoided.

I think that you are being very considerate to care about your father's feelings! I have two kids myself. A five year old and two year old. I know that I would be very afraid for my child, if he told me that he was going to try boxing. But that is a natural reaction from any caring parent. If this is what you truly want, you should go for it. Just talk to your father, make sure to tell him that you respect his concerns. Tell him that in order to go through with this, you need to have his support 100%. You should promess to be as safe as you can. Good luck...

Ask him to come along to the gym with you so he can see what you're doing. He may think boxing is all about getting beat up or hurt. Show him it's an art, and he'll support you.

Good luck. Keep your chin tucked in! - Stuart

Talk to him and ask him why he doesnt think its the right thing, and then tell him why you want to join. Maybe he'll see it your way and let you box.

All martial arts are harmful
when it comes to fight.

Kick boxing or Thai boxing
is lethal but it's also very good
excercise.

What's your real purpose?
Tell your dad.

Tell him the reason for wanting to learn boxing... It's a good thing to learn... Not just so you know how to fight... It will get you fit, and you will be more confident... Good Luck and I hope you enjoy it....

i in a amateur league. I love boxing, even if i get hurt sometimes. Make your dad come with you, whe n you have a match, and you better win and not get hurt, or he'll make you get out.
