They don't. They harm the cause of Christ by making people equate Christianity with hate. I'm certain that one way or another those people are going to have to answer for their hatred.

As a Christian I apologize for the existence of sites and attitudes like that.

Websites like that do not further the message of Jesus. They are vehicles of hate. If you should happen to look at their propoganda, you would see that they are not really Christians. They claim that God hates most of mankind. They picket soldier's funerals. They do not represent the majority of Christians nor do they represent the majority of humans.

People corrupt the teachings of Christ to further their own agendas because it's easy. Weak minded individuals will jump on the bandwagon that they most identify with. They feel a need to belong to something and the people in these types of organizations make them feel needed.

Again, these are not Christians, they are cultists and terrorists.

Fred is a disgrace to most of the population! Especially the poor baptist! But the truth about his mission is this; Fred has done more to bring diverse cultures together than anyone else in modern history! By preaching hate & intolerance, he has actually shown people how ugly this attitude can be. People who have been exposed to him would rather love their enemy than to be associated with his kind! He actually shows people how NOT to be, or at least that's what they're left with. Everybody loves to hate Fred! He's doin' "God's" work backwards! And yes there is way too much hate and intolerance in "religion" nowdays! Just because it's not right for you, doesn't necessarily make it wrong. When society truely understands this, maybe we can live in peace & harmony! Blessed Be...

This horrible church (little c) is more evil than the sin they attack. It's one thing to make a stand for morality - but these tactics are an abomination and a stink in the nostrils of God.

For every soul this pastor is over - he will be held accountable come judgment day. For every soul he turns away from God by picketing funerals of gay soldiers or speaking hate in his name for any reason - he will be held accountable.

The Bible says God holds ministers of the gospel to a higher standard than anyone else and strongly suggests that their accountability is far greater. I would not want to be in that man's shoes nor of his congregation, I would not want to be within a hundred feet of them when God drops the hammer.

SADLY - they (this church group) thinks people's anger toward them is persecution because of Jesus. They have no idea it's their own hate that brings people out against the,.

I totally understand your feelings, but I think you're placing blame incorrectly.

If someone misuses religion for their own ends, whose fault is it -- religion's fault, or the fault of the person who misused it?

I say it's the person's fault.

It's similar to when a drunk person gets behind the wheel of a car and hurts or kills someone in an accident.

Is it the car's fault, because the car was corrupted and misused for a bad end?

I agree, to put God's name on any kind of hate is completely against God's agenda for us and completely shows that some people are just not understanding that whole love thing. It is horrible and judgmental, all religions have groups of people who take the religion and slander and cause it harm. It is a horrible thing to take a loving God and put hate behind anything and attribute it to God.
They not only do not teach God's plan, but even more so push those who do not know jesus away from God. It is sad, but the person responsible will have to answer to God one day.

That is a classic example of how some people can know just enough to be dangerous. Rather than conform their beliefs to God's will, they conform their interpretation of God's will to fit their beliefs.

This is not a new problem. We've seen it before in the Crusades, and we see it now with Islamic extremists committing terror acts. There are very few religions that support overt hatred. Even the Church of Satan discourages hate!

dumb analogy up there with religion as car. lol. Agreed....question guy. I think you know the answer to this question, so why do you ask?

Food for thought...
Why does the site say fags? That is universally known (it's supposed to be) as a negative word for a kid who takes it in the closet but pretends to be straight. So why do people take that word out of context? Are you gonna walk up to a guy in a pink oxford who's flamingly homosexual and tell him he's a fag? It doesn't make any sense. I hate it when homos abuse the word too.

Uh, that site is not run by "organized" religion - just a few wacko nutjobs who would rather make Christians look like idiots than further the Gospel.

I agree with you completely about organized religion. These people are not furthering the message of Jesus, they are furhtering the message of themselves....their narrow-minded, ignorant selves. Religious zealots are constantly corrupting good messages by entering in their own agenda and doing horrible things in the name of God. It's sick and it is wrong.
