Every night I suffer through Floods, plagues of frogs, rivers of blood, being take from my home (as the first born son, this one bothered me more than my siblings), villiage stonings and of course hellfire and eternal torture.

Is there a way to sleep peacefully without fear of God's wrath?

You should be scared. Jesus is coming to take His chosen to heaven. Everyone left will face 7 years of terrible tribulation. After this the judgment.
If you are one of the unbelieving you will see Jesus as the Lion of the tribe of Judah.
If you are one of God's chosen, (believer), you will see Jesus as the sacrificial Lamb.
Time to chose sides. God's wrath is coming. You have been warned.

Sure. Read the Bible again, but concentrate on the "love and mercy" stuff.

That sort of thing shouldn't be hard to find in the Bible. After all, the "love and mercy" messages greatly outnumber the ones that deal with floods and plagues and such.

Start off with the Good Samaritan parable. Or the story of Jesus and the woman caught in adultery. Or the story of Peter's calling to be a disciple in the Gospel of Luke, at the beginning of Chapter 5.

Beautiful stories.

Read quantum physics. Or Hindu, more peacefull ( far away from truth but hey)
Use marihuanna. DOn't use magic mushrooms, it will get worst.
Find a g/f who will tire you to the death before you fall asleep.
Peace.

INteresintg how person above me (Julia) says love and peace outnumbers plague and death.
Give me your address and i will send you a calculator. Its not like 1+1+1=1 its slightly more than that.
Just a great flood alone is more than all your loving thing about but if we still go into numbers you definiatly need a calculator.
Therefore GOD and money do exist.

The bible has provided you with protection and a weapon to use when beset by the bad guys (who work through bad thoughts and dreams.) They are found in the 6th Chapter of Ephesians. It is the full armor of God. Some people like to think that the references made are just symbolic. I have personally found that this is not the case. Instead of getting into a biblical debate, I just offer this as a suggestion. It worked well for me an my family when we were in need. When you go to sleep, put on the full armor of God and you will be protected. You put it on by saying "I put on the full armor of God: The belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, etc..If bad guys are ever after you, use the weapon that has been provided "the sword of the spirit". These are given to you for you to use, and will obey your commands. They will also appear in your dreams if you call for them, and you can use them as needed. There is no need to endure the fear when such mighty resources are available at your command. Good luck to you.

I think perhaps your parents should have checked and chosen much easier passages of the Bible if you were young. I suggest though, (and it worked for me) you start to read the Bible but from the New Testament till the end. FInd the true love of God through his son Jesus and concentrate on that. See God as a Father, Jesus as your saviour. Old testament Bible is wonderful but I believe one must be of a certain age and know the New Testament to understand where "we" come from with our relationship with God...

Jesus came here, meek and humble and he says to you: (taht includes those in fear, with any kind of pain)
Mathew 11:28 Come to Me all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke on you and learn of Me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you shall find rest to your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.

He promises, he will. Seek his Peace (Go check the Bible)
Phillipians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say, Rejoice!
5 Let your moderation be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.
6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God which passes all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

I will pray for you, and if you have more questions, go to my site and email me from there

Accept Jesus into your heart as your personal savior, then read in the new testament and start in Proverbs and Psalms. The peace that passes all understanding is waiting for you. Be sure to go to a good bible believing church regularly to get strength and comradery from other Christians. I wish you the best.

Yes... you need to come to understand that some adults, too many, do not realize that children are limited in their understanding. They give adult stories without explination and guidence. In fact they may not themselves truly understand what it being read.

You do not give your age, but that you can make such a request implys that you have greater understanding than you did as a child.

There is absolutly no need for you to fear as you describe. that is not what it means to "fear God". I know that is easier said than done. But you can, as an adult come to a fuller understanding of God's intent for you. I can assure you that God intends only to gently instruct and guide those who honestly seek to know what He offers.

Ii is unfortunate that you were subjected to such heavy handed presentation of God's Word. In fact much of what youwere exposed to was not God's Word. but mans distorted interpretations and personal bias.

there is no way to adiquatly address your dificulties with what you have experienced from such misaplication of God's Instruction. This forum is not the proper place

I can assure you that God dose not intend for you to fear as you do. He dose not want this fear to be in you at all.

I will add you to my prayers today That God will relieve you of these fears

I accept email questions from honest seeker concerning The Christian Faith. Or you can check me out at:

all honest seekers are welcome.

I am not a pastor or evangelist nor do I have any great orginization. I am not a profesional guidence councelor. Just one old man testifying to his Salvation by Grace through Faith. and Praising God for it.

I used to feel the same way, I found a copy of the Good News New Testament and Prayed for God to show me the Truth. The answer I was given ....For God so "loved" the world, He gave his only begotten Son, that "whosoever" believes in Him would have everlasting life! Jesus died for all the sins of the world. "For all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God". I accepted Jesus into my life by admitting that I was a sinner like all others and that I believed his death had atoned for all my sins! I began to feel the "Good News"! I learned from his teachings and started to practice Love thy neighbor as thyself, and the many other teachings. Fear has come to me many times and caused me to be tormented! I started reading all the scriptures on fear and learned that I as a believer am to Fear Not, Let not thy heart be Troubled! The 23rd Psalm has helped me greatly in those times. The Tormenter has left as I have chosen to believe that Jesus is the answer to all my problems today. I trust and believe in his promises. I have Faith in Him and Faith worketh by Love so I must continue to love others as Christ has loved us and has given the ultimate sacrifice for our weakness. May the Eternal light of Christ and His love shine in your heart and mind to expell the twisted interpretations that you have believed. In other words, you can "change your mind" by giving it the "Good News"
