i don't think color has anything to do with how kind or gentle they are-some breeds are more friendly and affectionate than others, most domestics are nice cats and some breeds like the siamese are more aloof....if you want a specific characteristic in a cat, i would suggest finding out all that you can about the different type of cats out there. (you can search on the internet and i think msn has a personality matcher)

The color doesn't really affect their personality, just like brunettes are no nicer than red heads, but from experience, white cats are like the stereotypical blondes of the feline world, which makes them a little more affectionate

Well, I had a white cat and he was mean as heck. I've seen mean black cats, and mean orange cats. I don't think that color has any bearing on how nice the cat will be. But get a purebreed, they usually are more friendly and more calm.

I think grey cats are the cutest, so if I wanted one I would look first at grey and hope that it would also be the kindest.

We have had several Black and White ones. We like their temperment the best. They tend to be a little nervous but they are very people friendly. It really depends on the individual cat though, and how they are treated, before you get them.

Color of the coat has nothing to do with temperment. The genes which regulate color of the fur does not affect behavior.

I have two cats and I feed a whole bunch in the neighborhood. They are all kind, funny and affectionate in their own way and all are different colors and breeds.
