I have to be in Georgia in October for work. I need to visit various companies there. In Georgia, do employees get Columbus Day off from work?

I checked the Bibb County School District (Macon) calendar. Schools are open on Columbus Day, so that's a good indication that most folks will work.

Columbus day is a bank holiday in the US, but bankers take more holidays than any other group I can think of, except Congress!

It is also a United States Postal Service holiday.

Try calling the school district and simply asking the person who answers the phone if they think most people in Macon will have the day off. They live there, they'll know. Or heck, just call the companies you need to visit.
