I had my last period on May 25,2006 and still haven't came on yet. I recently gave a pint of blood at a blood drive about three weeks ago. Can me giving blood at the blood drive affect my period being late or am I prenant?

Giving blood has nothing effect on your period. It sounds like you are pregnant. Are you experiencing any other symptoms? Such as nausea, larger and sore breasts, headaches, tiredness, shortness of breath - of course the missed period you have noticed. If you are a regular 28 day cycle, and I did the math correctly, you should have gotten your period around June 22. I would take a home pregnancy test and see what it says. There are other reasons for missing a period such as stress or a cyst, but I would take a pregnancy test first to see if that is the reason. Good luck!

Well, then your period is only 2 days late, right? Giving blood at the blood drive should not affect your period. If you have had an instance of unprotected sex since your last period, your best bet to determine pregnancy is to go to your drugstore and pick up a pregnancy test. Otherwise, you can go to your local Planned Parenthood and be tested there.

Giving blood won't affect the schedule of your ovulation or period; those are controlled by hormones. Stress can definitely affect your hormones, though. It's only a little late, so I would sit tight for a couple more days, or drive to the store today to buy a pregnancy test. It's up to you.

you should NOT give blood when you are pregnant that can have affects on the baby they need that blood flow. The questionnaire should have asked you if you were or could be pregnant i just donated and i do every 56 days and I always get the same questions asked please get a test done before you do cause damage to the fetus if you are not pregnant then you need to see why your period is soooo late

You are pregnant donating blood does not affect your period. I had a similar problem like you. I usually start my period on thee 26th of every month well it turned out that on the month of May I did get my period then the months following I did not get it. So when June,July and half of the month of August I decided to take a pregnancy test and it came out positive. Then I went to my doctor and she told me that I was 3 months pregnant. So you should go to your doctor to make sure you are OK.

any number of factors could cause a late period from stress about worrying about being pregnant to diet, excercise, etc...take a home pregnancy test or better yet see an obgyn....i had never been late except for being pregnant...
but last month i was 16 days late...all stress related.... im back on track now dont worry just yet but if you could possibly be pregnant and your a smoker/drinker quit now until you know for sure youre not

Giving blood isn't going to affect your period. It's two different things.
