I have a handicap grandson with only one leg, and a prostectic. He is 4, but due to his handicap, his potty training was delayed. Parents are divorced with joint custody.

One day he wet his pants. Father and new gf took his prostectic off, and made him stand in the corner for 20 min or more one leg. What is your opinion? I ripped my son left and right but he does not see this as abuse. Now I am considering seeing lawyer and how I can get custody, cause they live in fith, both parents use them as pawns, and are told taught to tell lies to cover up things parents are doing. In this case the mother told my grandson it is ok to use your pants cause i dont have time to mess with helping you.

I am so angry, but want to help my grandkids. The problem I am a widowed grandfather, but I have raised 3 kids, only one seems to have strayed.

I don't blame you for wanting custody of your grandson. That has to be one of the most awful things I've ever heard of. You would have a tough case ahead of you if you decide to go for custody, but it sounds as though you really care care about your grandson. With a good lawyer, you could probably at least cut off visittation with his father, but you'd have a tough time getting sole custody. It's certainly not a lost couse though, as long as you gather enough evidence that both parents are unfit.

Best of luck!

The parents are despicable, they obviously feel they are "owed" something because they have a handicapped son. and are taking it out on him.

you must decide how bad it is, and should you seek legal help, in which case you will need to take custody of the child, or find him a foster family.

do not let this child grow up with mental issues and esteem problems, just because his parents do not appreciate him. if they dont have "the time" for him, then they should not have become parents in the first place.

Child services should be able to help the kids. The state I live in is annonymous.
If nothing else it has to be emotional abuse. It send a message to the child that if you misbehave, we will use your handicap as a punishment, and disgrace you. Taking the leg is where it crosses the line.
On the other side. If they put him in the corner and cleaned up the leg and gave it back to him, it may be iffy.

Yes this abuse. No ony physical but mental abuse. As a grandmother who wants the best for her grandkids you should step in. I feel very strongly that you should get in contact with a lawyer.

You need to get a hold of an attorney. He will tell you what kind of rights you have. You may also want to consider calling child services on the parents.

This hurts to even read this.

Yes, that's abuse. He was angry his son had an accident and forced him to stand without his prostetic.

It's too easy to make children. There should be a test or something.
