Trust me... at 13 just stick to your natural hair color... and maybe try something else fun for now, but that's not so permanent. Ask your mom if she would allow you to try something else, ask her for her opinion... maybe a new hair cut or a temporary 12 shampoo wash out hair color. It is fun to experiment with your hair... but bleaching can look very fake and if done improperly can make your hair look like straw, and the only way to fix that is to let it all grow out... which can take a long time and look horrible!

Well, after a while if you bleach it to much it is not as soft and when it grows out the bleach will be like halfway on your hair and will look ugly. Hair is normally prettier natural. If you just want to get a few suttle highlights then I don't see what the problem is. Tell your mom what you want to do with your hair . She may not let you cause it is a little expensive.

Bleaching your hair is not bad for "you" per say as it is bad for your hair. If you do decide to bleach your hair, make sure you get some sort of after bleaching conditioner to put in your hair so the damaging effects will not be so great. It will make your hair look better too!

Bleaching can be bad. Only let a professional do it. But wait until you are older. It's not a million years away. There are some mild hair dyes that you can use and last a few days/ weeks. They have no bleach in them.

It can be if done incorrectly.
All chemical processes damage the hair in some way. This does not mean the hair is in terrible shape or anything.
I think your mom thinks you are too young for hair color.

Bleaching isn't bad for you but it can be bad for your hair if it isn't done correctly. Why won't your Mom let you? You probably aren't old enough if she still has that control.

It dries your hair, is damaging, you are 13, and not everyone looks good as a bleach blond!!

Bleaching just looks cheap. And kind of trashy. Your mother is on the right track to protecting your reputation.

Yes! It kills your hair..I always wanted to do my hair like that but my mom would never let me...and as i got older i liked the fact that i have my natural hair color..I mean how many girls nowa days do you see with there natural hair color

sometimes it makes ur hair wierd colors like green and yellow
