This is really gross...my boyfriend went to BCT two years ago and ever since then he's had this really bad athlete's foot/ fungus thing...is there a way to get rid of it? I finally got the bright idea to send him to a podiatrist a couple of weeks ago but we didn't have time because he was on leave from Iraq....so I need something that he has access to in Iraq

Sounds like he may have "trench foot" you only get that from never drying out your feet. Have him dry out his feet, change his socks daily, if he's in Iraq, send him tubes of Lotrimin AF. I had trench foot once and it really really sucks.

You can get athlete's foot from your feet sweating in your shoes at any time. Buy some Tinactin powder spray (that worked the best for me).

good luck...
my husband went through basic about 5-6 years ago and his feet are still suffering from it...b/c he still wears those boots everyday.

send him some really comfy black socks, they may help some.
also, send him some neosporin, and foot powder.
the socks should help with all the walking they do over there, the neosporin should help heal wounds at night, the foot powder should help absorb extra moisture during the day.
he should also check in with the Docs over there.
my husband's squadron always traveled with their own doctors...he should ahve access to a doc over there.

take care!

Avon has a product that works extremely well with smells, break outs, and fungus. In fact it works better than the stuff on the store's shelves.

Tough actin Tinactin comes to mind. I also read in Men's Fitness magazine, that pee will work. I know it is gross, but I read that the urea in urine counteracts the Athlete's foot fungus. Tell him that's why they had to wear shower shoes in basic, guess he didn't listen.

I know it sounds gross and disgusting, but I had the same problem and I was told to pee on it. It worked within 24 hours. I thought it was weird and disgusting at first, but it worked. Some guy that had been around the Military forever told me to do it, I did, and it worked.

Same thing happened to me. It got to the point when I took off my shoes it smelled like rotting flesh, sorry for the gag you all just had. I used the back rub Absorbine Jr. and it killed it. Also tell him to change his socks several times a day if he can.
