Ive tried to be nice, to let go, to forget, to be the better person. But I can't. How do I get even with someone who caused a lot of pain in the past?

actually... the best revenge is to actually move on and be more successful and happier than ever before... The best revenge is to erase these people from your life and your thoughts....

There's a saying that the best revenge is to live well. So try your hardest to move on and find a happier life for yourself.

I also believe that what goes around comes around. If this person is causing a lot of pain, eventually if they go on treating people like this, it will result in them in being on the wrong end of something. You may not be there to see it or know it, but I don't think people get away with being horrible to others consistently in the long term.

So please, for your own sanity, try to move forward to better times.

The best revenge against someone who has hurt you or treated you badly is to commit yourself to be a better person, a kinder and more considerate person than they are. I learned this from experience about four years ago, and I have become a happier and more friendly person than I ever was before.
And, if you haven't accepted Christ yet, now is the time. There is no one more dependable, more loving, more understanding, or more helpful than God: this I have also learned from experience.

The best way to get even is to forget, and move on. Some people really get off on seeing that they have hurt someone else. As it stands now that person knows you are steaming and enjoys it. The only way that you can get this person's grip on you released is to stop caring.

It's hard to just let it go, but whenever I feel this way, I always think "why am I wasting my precious time thinking about this person who isn't worth anything to me?" and "why are you allowing this person to make you feel this way?". You're giving him/her the power to control your emotions. In the meantime, this person is going along on his/her way treating others the same why he/she treated you and not having any second thoughts. However, this person won't keep getting away with his/her behavior. Eventually it'll catch up to them. Believe me, I've seen and heard this happen. It's amazing. It may take years, but it does happen. The funny part is that they put it all upon themselves. You don't want to be responsible for causing that person any misfortune because you'll be just as wrong as they were to you.

I can't remember who said this quote, but it goes like this:
Never argue with a stupid person. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

darling, before taking any decision, just think once about ''who are we to punish somebody, when even god forgives the mistaken once. dear if he goes away let it go. but if it comes back to than call it as your love. if it dint, than just have a positive mind and say to yourself ''may be he was not made for me'',and sweat-heart with one thing the world is not over, there's lot to do in this world. just forget it.

Let life give the revenge. Live your life and let that person go, don't waste your time on him or her.

the best revenge is to show them that you are very happy, because they only want to see you suffer, so make sure they see you being happy, and they will have to deal with it themselves. revenge will only come back to you tenfold, bad carma. try to talk to someone about the baggage you hold onto, because as long as you do, the other person is getting your rent.

Try you best to move on. Think of it this way....it happened because you allowed it to happen. You have to take some responsibility for what heppened. Learn from this lesson and never allow such a thing to happen to you again.

Easy,

the perfect revenge involves some rope, duct tape, a knife, can of gasoline, a lighter, black gloves, and O.J's team of lawyers.
