Luckily, I didn't have to decide. Jesus come down on a cloud one day and said:
"Thou shalt be heterosexual and the world shalt by thy oyster, no manass shall ye covet for ye are straight and sharp."
He did the same thing for my aunt, but he said to her:
"Thou art a wicked creature whom i shalt send to hell for enjoying rugby and the company of other women. Thou shalt be chained to intolerant family members for the rest of thy days."
And that's how we know whether or not we are gay or not.

I think I could have been a lesbian. I "experimented" a lot when I was really young with other girls. but I am heterosexual and so are all the other girls that happened with.
I guess if I ended up a lesbian, I could have pointed to that and said I must have been always like that. I don't know when or why I started to like boys, but I am pretty sure it was puberty. That I think, is the time we decide for sure what sex we will have a liking to. Before puberty, I don't really think I sexually liked boys or girls more, since I was sort of an asexual creature, but if I had to choose at that time, I guess it would be girls. But again, I turned out to be completely heterosexual.
I have a cousin who has a lot of homosexuality in her immediate family (not my side, but the in laws side) , She was always "boyish" even when she was two she refused girly things, girly colors, She turned out to be a lesbian.
I think sexual preference is such a gray area. There can be so many reasons, causes and variables in what makes someone ultimately choose exclusively one sex or the other or sometimes both.... But personally, I would have to say that some of it might be genetic, some might be childhood experience, and some is how you develop psychologically during puberty.

Interesting question.
For myself I don't think I've ever sat down and thought about it. I suppose I should though. I admit that there are certian men I find very attractive. Mostly in a "boy I sure wish I could look like that" sense. But I don't think I've ever had a sexual attraction towards one. But who knows? If I ever do I certainly won't think it's "evil" or anything. That would be just silly.

You can chose who you are attracted to, but they may not necessarily be attracted to you. Every couple of months on the Discovery channel they run shows about how physical attraction works. Now becoming attracted to someone on the internet is a different thing because you are attracted to what these people say about themselves which might not be true so you are attracted to the ideal.

I did not sit down one day and decide I was attracted to anyone. I just came to realize and accept that I am attracted to both.

Most people do not choose who they are attracted to. It's been proven that the hypothalamus (a part of the brain directly linked to sexual attraction) of a gay man reacts to the pheromones (odorless chemicals excreted to attract mates) of other men, just as women react to men. This proves that homosexuality is more than just a choice. Choices alone cannot alter brain chemistry (unless, of course, the choice is to use some sort of substance that affects you).

I can't even choose WHICH boys I'm attracted to, let alone whether I'm attracted to boys in the first place.

A very profound subject. Good question. For myself, I am a man who prefers to be a lesbian. I have given that much thought and have asked many a wise person if my belief system were correct. Peace and Love

I just go with my instinct. Male and breathing is usually a good start, then I start to define things a bit, until I find one that curls my toes for me. I prefer men, they have a piece of equipment that females just don't got.......
I tried batting for the team once, but it was just too high maintenance for me. Give me a cute uncomplicated breathing male anyday and I'll find a good use for him.
