start looking thru decorating magazines and pick out the style that you like the best and go from there.

my sister once handed me a pile of magazines and told me to flip thru them as fast as I could and tear out the pics I liked, but I wasn't allowed to think about the pic, just tear it out and place it into a pile. after I had finished she sorted them by room and color. It was quite fasicinating to see that my preference for decorating is very warm and old world style in the main portion of the house, i.e. living room, family room, kitchen, but very light, bright and serene for my bedroom. And though I had told her for years that I just don't like floral patterns, she was amazed to find that I was right as I didn't pick one picture with florals in them.

Better Homes and Gardens website. using ceiling white High Gloss paint with reflect light and make it look so much larger! The Better Homes and Gardens website is: www.BHG.com
Using "ceiling" white rather than just the usual white, the "ceiling" white is the brightest thing on the market and reflects light making you home brighter, and High Gloss does the same thing. If you go with white you can change the color theme easily, say from blues, to burgundy/mauves, to yellow hues and oranges. When you want to dress up an area after a while all you need to do is change the colors of chair pads, accent carpets etc. So going bright white and Burgundy's/red/mauve's will make it classy looking without much money or labor! Go for it! As you see in the Better Homes and Gardens magazines, white is the base color with color as an accent! Get started today, in a week you will be amazed at the new "look" you've created!
