Yes I have my mom and dad are divorced (divorced when I was younger) but everytime we are supposed to do something he dont show or call. I know alot of it is my step mom. Dont let it get you down.

Sounds more like your mother talking through you here, I'm sorry if your parents are divorced, but that doesn't automatically make your father a dead beat. Even if your mother is telling you that. Some day, when you are older, you will probably find out first hand, why...your father is/has done the things he does, or says. Until you've been in his shoes, you really shouldn't judge.

Some dads do, maybe to present themselves or situations in a better light. But there's no really good reason for anyone to lie repeatedly. Deal with it as best you can and get on with your own life.

No. I can't remember my Dad ever lying. I'm sure he has, but it was probably one of those parental lies they tell for your own good such as "Coffee will stunt your growth." (I didn't drink coffee much till I was 21 and I'm 6'1'...so maybe there's some truth to it!)

Sounds like an avoidance problem - He is afraid of something in the relationship.

no i haven't. i am sorry that children have to go thru stuff like that. if you can't trust your own parents you can't trust many people. i did have that experience with my ex. he would lie to our daughter all the time. she doesn't have alot of selfesteem and it is hard for her to trust. she always says that people let her down.
