I dont get something. What do people think they are going to get by being satanists. I dont care about the fact that they get to do all this stuff they might like, but what do they expect at the end. If they don't believe in god, why would they believe in the devil, and if they think that satan is going to reward them for serving him, don't they realize that that is absolutely incongruous? He is, after all, the king of lies, why would he not lie to you? Besides, what is the plus? when you go to hell, because you are going, you know...does he only torture you 2 days a week instead of seven or something? Hell, if I was satan I would be having myself a laugh at the fact that I got all these people serving me AND I get to keep them....anyone with an insight?

I dont mean to offend anyone....so if you feel offended you don't have to answer. I am not labeling or trying to lump people together into one group. Just to clear the air: I myself have no religious affiliation, and don't really mind what other people want to believe. I was merely curious

I am not asking why people WORSHIP Satan(abaddon, beelzebub, belial, dragon, the father of LIES, leviathan, old scratch, prince of the devils, etc.), exactly. I have a mostly clear idea of why and what from what the PRINT works say, having read numerous articles, books(both fiction and not), and seen various videos. I actually read a book about a girl who was forced into Satanism. I know those things can happen and that some people don't want to be where they are and how they are. My question is merely asking PEOPLE, not what other places say, about this. I just want to know. If you serve him, what do you plan to attain in the long run? what do you think will happen when you die? Thank you for citing places to get info, but I've seen a lot of them and seen what they say. I would prefer people responses, but I must thank you all for the cites.

I don't think most Satanists worship Satan per se...they hold the ideals that Satan represents as being prime and in essense try to worship themselves in the path to complete selfishness (which is what Satan is about when you break it all down).
Anyone actually worshipping Satan is not being true to what Satan is all about.

Hey there, first off we must make 2 things clear,
1-hell is not where the lost and demons will end up. Hell is the actual place of ALL the dead (in christ or not) till the rising of them, judgement day and so on. The eternal place where satan and the demons AND the lost will will be cast to spend eternity, even hell itself will be thrown there. Check Revelations:
Rev 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
Rev 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
Rev 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
As for those who chose satanism, well you must know that who ever in the world doesn't not chose JESUS CHRIST, is of satan, do not have to be evil or mean, just still belongs to satan from birth.
Joh 8:43 Why do you not know My speech? Because you cannot hear My Word.
Joh 8:44 You are of the Devil as father, and the lusts of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and did not abide in the truth because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own, for he is a liar and the father of it.
Joh 8:45 And because I tell you the truth, you do not believe Me.
Now most people are blinded by truth, (that's satan scam) and for many they believe this lie"better rule in hell than serve in heaven" or "if you're going to live once might have the most fun" and so on. When it comes to lying satan is the best. Remember how powerful he is at temptation, if people succumb to temptation, how can they not succumb to attractive lies?
Even today, as we speak, many people still believe that being good will land them into Heaven... That is another of satan's lies. Those people are not "evil" but will still end up in hell and the lake of fire. Why? because THE ONLY WAY TO HEAVEN IS THROUGH JESUS:
"Jesus said to him, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father but by Me. Joh 14:6
So you see, those people you are talking about won't have it any worse or better than the good ones believing a lie. They just chose to have more out of it (satan does give glory to those who pledge to him: cash, celebrity and so on)
I chose eternity with the Heavenly Father God.

I am not a Satanist. But I imagine that Satanists believe that Satan is the true god. They believe that the bad things that are said about Satan are merely unfair propaganda used as a kind of smear campaign by Christians.
Perhaps they also believe that if they worship Satan they will be sent to a nice part of Hell. Maybe they think that there are some great parts of Hell with lots of sex, drugs, night clubs etc. Who knows. To each their own.

Well some of this people have an empty faith, members of the Church of Satan, the most organized Satanic group, reject this common association, as they do not actually believe in a being called "Satan," and use his name only as a symbolic allusion to certain materialistic and individualistic values. Adherents of the various forms of Satanism recognize Satan as either an archetype, a pre-cosmic force, an actual living entity, and/or some aspect of human nature. Although named for Satan, a name associated with evil and temptation, Satanism is also the name given to certain spiritual paths which emphasize the Left-Hand Path, as opposed to the much more common Right-Hand Path. do not in fact worship a deity called Satan, or necessarily any other deity, nor do they follow a principle of evil. This aspect of their beliefs is very commonly misunderstood due to the presence of theistic Satanists, who revere Satan as a literal being.
Religious Satanism (sometimes referred to as Traditional Satanism or Theistic Satanism) is the form of Satanism whose followers believe Satan is a force (or energy) in nature.
do your research anything else are just lies and people who believe other wise are just ignorants.
PS. i am not in this religion but i did this research so you know. Good luck and God Bless

There are atheists, then there are satanists. I don't know much about either. I'll bet satanists don't know much about it either. I'm sure there are some people out there who fancy themselves servants of hell, but mostly it's just kids who're getting a thrill. I've heard of people hurting people in rituals, I think those would be your extremists or your morons of whom the situation got away. You need to consider where people are coming from before you condem though. Why would people choose to align themselves with evil? Maybe something happened to them that was so bad they had no choice but to believe that evil is more powerful than good. That power is protection. Yet, ultimately, surrendering themselves to satan..... Some kind of pattern replaying?

Do you know anything about satanists from satanists or just what the church has told you what satanists are (which is what they used to be, not what they are today)?
Satanists just call themselves that to be complete opposites of any Jesus based religion. They don't believe in God or the Devil. And if you read their rules and sins you may actually realize it's not that far off from Jesus based religions rules.
I'm not a satanist, and don't want to be, but at least i know what Satanism is, just as I know what being christian is.
Try this link, its from Wikipedia. And it's very thorough.

OK, no religious affiliation, I apologize for assuming you are catholic or christian. But this link I provided is very informative about Satanism. Check it out and learn.

If you know about Satanism, then why ask why they worship Satan?

Because Satanists don't believe in God, Satan, Hell, or any of that other Christian dogmatic stuff. If you honestly looked up LaVeyan satanism, it's not about dogma, it's about empowerment of the self. The "Satan" name attached to it was just a label to stir up the masses - LaVey did it for the attention it gets, as a symbol, not as an actual person/being.

I don't know any one who worships satan, but I do know a lot of non-believers. I am Christian and was told by one non-believer that she thinks Christians are boring and she wants to do whatever she likes even though they are not considered "good" for her. I was told by another non-believer that being Christian is too much work. I don't think they realize that this life is short compared to eternity. It's sad, but so many people are turned off by Christians. Non-believers turn the other way. Most of the non-believers that I know tell me that they don't want to believe in God and as long as they do good in this life, that's the only thing that matter. They don't want to hear about the grace that God has given us.
Even though non-believers don't worship satan, he is still "talking" to them and lying to them. Eve did not worship satan, but he was still able to convince her to do what God forbade her to do.

Good point. What is a satanist hoping to accomplish in the long-term? Maybe it's that they don't want to wait in line when they get to hell. In this regard, atheism seems more logical than satanism.
But I still maintain that most people who claim to be atheists or satanists are just looking for attention.

Satan is the master of deception and he will do whatever he can to keep these people in bondage. They may be having fun now (though I don't believe for a minute that they are truly happy) but in the end they will pay for all the sins they have committed (however, I do hope they will believe that Jesus died for their sins before that happens).
