My wife was born over international waters on a C130. Her Dad was in the military and they were on their way back from over seas. As far as citizenship... American parents = American child.

Now training for the flight crew is not going to cover birth. They will have basic first aid, CPR, and some restraint techniques but not birthing.

Flight Attendants are only trained to do CPR on customers while trying to get professional help at the nearest destination ASAP. Also women are not supposed to be flying if she is 28 weeks pregnant, so problems like that don't have to happen.

As a flight crew member I was trained to ASSIST in a birth.
We (US Carrier) get re trained annually on advanced first aid.
everything from burns and broken bones, and birthing, to heart attacks and using a de-fibrillator. We are also trained to fight fires, and to varying degrees fight terrorists.

Nice idea, but how the citizenship of the child will be decided, as the air boundry would be belonging to some other country?
