When my kids were little they had way more fun playing with stuff I had around the house - put a sofa cushion down on the floor, great fun to crawl over. Pots and wooden spoons from the kitchen, a laundry basket, plastic mixing bowls and things they can put into them - you don't need a bunch of expensive toys to keep them happy. Peek-a-boo is big fun too! P.S. - This is the easiest it's ever going to be to entertain them!

Like Redbone, I won't refer to the child as an "it". I would suggest anything interactive, between you and him/her. You don't want to get them turned on to the TV too soon, although it is a good learning tool. Sing songs, do a little dance while you're singing (they really like that), play with toys together, go for walks, pretty much anything goes when they're that young. Everything is still so new and exciting to them.

Dance, sing, laugh, pattycake, tickle, goo, a car ride, trip to the market and play with the veggies, and the list goes on. Include your one year old in everything you do and you will find they are people too. Being people too they will have good and bad days just like you. I have three boys and they were all different. They are beautiful each one but with personalities all their own. No set way just be yourself and let them be who they are and meet in the middle.

Well, that would be diffiucult for me as one should have lots of patience and I do not particularly.. With my limited patience, I would give the baby a sleeping pill and hope it works....(JOKE) No, one would /should have some simple very simple toys that the baby can lay there and with his/her hands, play with the toys... you would have to also show your face and hold some fo the toys, etc and hope it goes to sleep

Covering it in feces...? It does it to itself on TV, and then laughs...not even normal laughing...pretty creepy laugh...like huh ha huh huhh ha like sick...
Or you could like light a firecracker near it...but not close enough to injure said "baby".

you dont have to do much...hand the baby anything and they'll play with it. i handed my one year old cousin a coaster and he was mesmerized. eventually they'll get tired and go to sleep.
