What I meant was, are there any better words for mentor? I am a native speaker also, so I know that mentor is also a spanish word, but I wasnt sure if there was a better word to use in place of it. Thanks!

mentor is a guide , guia, but is very spiritual the word. If you can chose the same mentor is in spanish too... profesor, maestro ?
mentor indeed is a ancient roman and keltic word that is used almost the same in all languages.
