For example, the "why are monkeys or apes still here?" question is completely baseless. Is it that our education systems are lacking? Is it the church's unwillingness to accept ideas that differ from their own teachings? I could care less if you believe that God made us out of dirt, but at least have the integrity to understand the concept that you deny.

Do not generalize. I am a Christian and I think that I have a good grasp of evolution (BTW, I accept the theory). Unfortunately, it is not only evolution that is not well understood. You will find that the general population has very little understanding of science or, sometimes, economic realities. It is probably the fault of the educational system.

The bible states that God created man in his image. People just assume it as we see the image. Consider the fact records and time keeping back then where very poor.
Christians and scientist will both be in for a surprise when they walk through the pearly gates and a hunched over hairy man comes out and says, "oooo, oooo, ooooo, ooooooo". That is how they talked back then and it means 'I am God, follow me'.

Erina, and others, the 'why are there still monkeys' is a fair argument. Monkeys are now living and reproducing in captivity which puts them in a constant human presents. Shouldn't after the last 100 years of zoologist working with these guys from birth seen some type of evolutionary factor, maybe not talk but development in the voice box for future generations? I can argue either side as I feel I am quite knowledgeable on both.
Maybe it isn't evolution they are finding but different species.

It's true - because so many religious organizations and parents are so against evolution theory (partly because they don't understand it), it isn't taught early...I didn't learn about it in a way that made sense until Grade 12 Advanced Biology...so a lot of people never reach that level of education or take those courses, which means that it is widely misunderstood, which leads to further prejudice. I was raised Christian and I remember all sorts of ridiculous statements made against evolution...."Why do monkeys still exist....Why aren't monkeys turning into people NOW if evolution happens....Why if material degrades over time are animals supposed to 'improve' over time..." It's really frustrating how uneducated a lot of people are.

It is inconcistent with the book of Genesis and threatens the lie of God. Therefor the response from the religious elite is that evolution is a lie of Satan. Thus most people who are content to be sheeple don't learn about it but parrot back the stupid questions.

We have truth on our side we can do expiriments and prove research. What do they have? A Bible that has been changed throught the centuries and is scientificaly inaccurate.

No. I don't believe it's the education system. I lay the blame on propaganda started by those who simply don't like the sound of something. Much like those who don't like witches or pagans, telling others that they worship Satan, perform sacrifices at midnight, etc etc... It's all BS, but BS spreads quicker than any Truth could. People love to point out flaws, real or imagined, in other things, just so they can turn it around to make their own appear more right.

I think they misunderstand it's actually a common ancestor we share with monkeys & apes, but they think we came from monkeys and apes which is something else entirely and it puzzles them...they don't think very deeply and need things spelled out real simple ..something scientists don't do enough of, we need more popularist science education...fast!

For some reason evolution in humans clearly favors those who live by faith rather then by logical thinking.

Because evolution is a farce. It has never been observed in nature or a lab.

Most of the evolutionists claims are as far fetched as you say our beliefs are.

I know it's rude to answer a question with a question but, how do you define faith?

Don't ever listen to Christian "inerrantists" who eat pork or shellfish.
