He knew she was sick but still made her have more kids in return that made her even sicker.Than left her alone with them knowing she was not ok with being alone with them. It's like he wanted her to.The doctors said she needed meds he said no.They said no more kids because she can't deal with it and he makes her have 2 more.He maybe even more to blame than her.

She needs to be in a mental institute. He showed very poor judgment. They both have the worst fate possible....living with the knowledge that they are responsible for the deaths of all their children.

I think this women was very depressed and yes she needed medical help and meds. Which if she would have got both of these I do believe her kids would still be here today. Yes, I think he contributed to her depression, she had no social life and he keep her pretty much in the house or in church. I don't have anything against church but she needed a life, I'm not saying she did not have one as a mother or wife but you have to have human contact with people your age and outside interest. We really do not even know what kind of marriage they had. I think he ignored her and he should have been more concerned about her health. But he has since remarried and gone on with his life while she is in prison. He was really thinking about her welfare. I know the guy lost his kids in a very horrible way by the women he loved, but he had to have known something was not right.

Wow, this is a difficult one. I really hadn't ever given it much thought as to his responsibility in maybe preventing what occurred. I agree with you in that he should be held accountable to some degree. Imprisonment, I don't know. I think he is going to be punished for the rest of his life because his children were taken from him in such a brutal and disgusting way. She should never have been left alone with those children if he truly knew the extent of her stress and her bipolar disorder. She should have received help and medication. I believe in this day and age a woman should be able to make her own decisions and the fact that this man said she couldn't have meds shows how controlling he was. He is wrong and he is suffering for it. He will have to answer it his children one day as well as God.

I'm not a male-basher, for sure, but I do agree with most of what you said. HE was the sane one...and he just didn't care to take the time to protect his children and his wife.

My husband and I have talked about this a lot. He feels the same way.

I'm not sure exactly how I feel about Andrea and her fate, but I do know that I would no more marry Mr. Yates if he was the last man on earth. The total disrespect he had for his children and his wife is disgusting.

I don't know that he "made her" have more kids, but he certainly should share the blame. He knew how sick she was and left her alone with the kids. And now he's remarried and starting a new life. I don't know if he planned it that way, but he certainly seems to be taking full advantage of the situation.

I thought I was the only one that felt that way. You are so right! She was already having problems and he didn't help her in any way to resolve them. Now she's imprisoned and he's gone on with his life somewhere w/another woman. Those children are gone too. He got off scott free if you ask me. He should be in prison too. I've said that since day one!

Actually, I feel that he is more to blame than she is! I cannot believe that he wasn't charged. You know that when she called him before she did anything she told him "if you don't come home or get me help right away I don't know what I am going to do with these kids!" And, please tell me, why did she home school the children - he may as well have killed them himself.

And what would you charge him with? Also, she had free will (apparently, she killed he own kids) she could have left him, she wasn't chained to the mattress...

Why is it that women only want accountability when it comes to men? Otherwise they use several excuses from PMS, to post partum depression to whatever the excuse of the month is....
