Because they're not allowed to marry. Taking away a man's freedom to marry and be satisfied sexually leads them to seek this satisfaction in a perverse way.

There are not a lot of Priests & Vicars that are pedophiles. There are some and they have been highly publisized giving the impression that there are more than there are. Within every grouping of people you are going to have a bad people. Not just in the Church.

First of all, because the church has covered up their crimes, it has allowed indivigual pedaphiles to keep abusing kids.
But I think that the reason lots of pedaphiles go into the priesthood is they know what they are. They probably know what they are from a young age, but don't want to be a pedaphile. Perhaps they figure that if they go into the priesthood, it'll "fix" them. They'll be people of god, and He will eliminate their criminal desires. Of course, this doesn't work, and it just ends up that they spend lots of time in insence-scented darkened rectories with little kids who trust them completely...

because they have easy acsess to many children , like u take ccd classes the children arent really supervized by many adults, there are ample opertunities to be alone with a child . but not only that before they even became priests they were sicko's this just gave them the right environment for carrying out thier sick thoughts

That's right, there are 16 times more pedophile teachers than there are Priests.

Actually, according to the New York Times, the occurance of pedophilia is lower among priests than among protestant preachers and much lower than the general population.

The priesthood attracts a lot of pedophiles and homosexuals because they know that they will find the opportunity there to fulfill their desires. In other words, they were pedophiles or homosexuals before entering the priesthood and thought they were finding a safe refuge there.

Being a survivor of sexual abuse by a minister of God, I need to tell you that before they were ministers or priest, or whatever, they were men first. There is good and evil in this world. They tend to misuse their authority to gain power over their young victims

Is easier to take advantage of people in a safe environment like church. Some predators know this and use it accordingly. They are the lowest of the low IMO.
