I didn't get my point across very well, and I wasn't badmouthing anyone. Many proudly fill their plates, and I say, "Have at it." Some, though, seemingly sneak around a bit as if they're hoping that no one is noticing. It's like a guilt complex of a sort, and I want to ask, "Why the hell did you go in there in the first place?"

Just a curious question, that's all.

Mostly it is all gluttony. I used to go to those places a long time ago and realized that it was very unhealthy. I visit those places maybe once or twice a year but it is not worth it because I usually stop at 1 plate and 1/2. Most people just continue to eat a lot to get their money's worth when they visit those buffets but in the end they are just doing more damage to their body than they know.

The reason I'd go to a buffet place is because I am hungry and want to eat a good bit of food. I may fill my plate 3 times, but isn't that the point of a buffet, to eat a lot?

There is a definate secret to all you can eat. The first trip is a sample, A tiny bit of what ever gets your eye (or taste buds); then a second trip to experiment on the unknowns; a third for what is you like; and the last for the dessert and ice cream, but that is a repeat of the previous.

I am not one of those people who have filled my plate 3 times.... It is more around the area of, say, 5 or more. When I go to an "All you can eat" buffet, I don't think of it as such. Instead I see food and think "Eat all you can." Those were the best nights of my life...

At the all you can eat place I act like I have'nt filled my pate three times, because I be hungry. And I like to make all different kinds of salads at those places. Plus I like chicken wings and they always have those. But after all that salad and chicken I need some dessert so then I need cookies and icecream. now I'm really hungry I think I'm going to the all you can eat place after school!

I don't. I'm there to eat 'til I'm satisfied. but I was part of a group that convinced one of the guys with us that "all you can eat" meant exactly that. He ate so much he had to run to the bathroom for the same reason that you have an overflow of gas if you overfill at the pump (which, with gas prices the way they are, I'll be happens a lot less than it used to).

I had a friend that went to a Chinese all you can eat and after the 4th plate full, they asked him to leave. He wasn't wasting food, he was actually eating it all and a lot of it. He was so mad. He kept yelling, "Its a buffet, you said all I can eat". They threatened to call the police and he finally left. He walked out without paying.

This is so true because my wife does the same thing and she loves, to send me up for more items for her. Then I go back for myself so people are looking at me like how many times are you going to go up to eat? I don't care what stares I get but my wife only goes up twice for one plate and then dessert but she has the most dirty plates going to the kitchen!!! She even sends our 10 year old son up for her. TOO FUNNY!!!!!

Well it's so true, but why are we there in the first place to fill up three plates afterall! A trick I do is totally avoid carbs cause you don't feel so sick and increase your proteins. They are more costly, carbs are cheap so why waste your money on fillers!!!
