well, alot of people are afraid of a mean or vicious dog, but if you know right where to kick a charging dog, and you know how to disable it (i love dogs though, I've never had to do that yet. they're all just big sweeties) i guess you wouldn't be as afraid...
alot of people are afraid of spiders, but all you have to do is squish them really fast, and everythings OK.
terrorists? hurricanes? you hear about a hurricane coming into your area, you evacuate. nobody really trys to sit and stare at the sky... although i have seen some pretty dumb people in texas do it while watching the weather channel.
wow. i guess there are some people that aren't afraid of hurricanes but are afraid of a little spider or something.
or you could look at it another way, stupid people aren't afraid of anything.

Huge crowds of people - am small town oriented in NYS and large throngs of people terrify me because I'm so short that it's not easy to get my bearings; can't see over everyone to locate where I am. Not a little person, but 5' is pretty short in this world. Wish I had that 'built in' radar so many have; I'd feel safer.
