If there is a reason for your dad giving it away (aggressive, biting), then you're just gonna have to learn that the dog is better off not being in your house. If it's simply because he decided he no longer wants the dog, there is no reason for it. Do you help take care of it? Maybe that's the reason. Either way, it's very very sad to lose a pet. Hurting yourself is not the answer. Try talking to your dad and hopefully he'll come around!

Thats so sad. Why is he giving your dog away?
I had a dog once, his name was Chester. He was a big lab/retriever mix. All three of us in the house worked all day though so we couldn't really give him the attention he needed. So we gave him away to these people on a farm where he could run and be free and play out side with kids.
If your dad is giving him away and his mind is set, there's really nothing you can do about it, except maybe visit him at his new home. I'm sorry and good luck.

Why is he doing this? You need to tell him how you feel. If there are very good reasons like health or financial. Just pray that the dog will be safe and happy. A good way to get over it is find something else to occupy your time so you won't dwell on it. You will never however forget your friend. Best Wishes.

Gosh! You tell him that Boffo says, "Pets are family members too, and if he does that he is a mean mean man." Is there some reason that he MUST do this? Like, a landlord that won't accept pets, or something else out of his control? If not, he needs to re-think his moves.
Do what Ragapple says. Tell somebody real.

Talk to your dad to find out why he is doing it. Tell him that he is setting a bad example by showing you that pets are disposible. If he gets rid of the dog, what's to stop him from getting rid of you kind of thing.

Hunny if you are this upset & heartsore you need to talk to a careing adult (that you know, not over the internet) if you just can't talk to your parents. Talk (on the phone if you must) to an Aunt or Uncle, a teacher , sunday school teacher, or scout leader.

If you don't have a choice, you will just have to deal with it. Take as many photographs as you can with your dog, do something really fun with it, have a video tape of your last moments, then let him/her go. It's going to be really sad, but make your last moments with your dog something to remember.

Depends on why he feels the dog needs to go. Does anyone have allergies? Are there obedience issues? It might be something that cannot be resolved. It might be something easily resolved.

Have you tried talking to hm about it? Have you appealed to your mom and other relatives? What reason does he have? I don't know if he's being cruel or if he has good reasons. You need to give us more information.

Ask him, why he does not give you away... Lets see if he likes that... I personally don't like pets because they are animals and animals are free... not to have them in a house (huge cage).
