Maybe you should let his doctor take a look at it. What may appear to be diaper rash could be something else that may not respond to home treatment.

Yikes! Why haven't you taken him to the doctor yet? It could be an infection.
Let him go without a diaper for a while if you can. You didn't say how old he is so I don't know how often he goes. If you can't, use diaper rash cream on the skin and change him every hour whether he's soiled or not. Get some sensitive skin wipes, too. And schedule an appointment with your pediatrician ASAP!

My first born had really sensitive skin. His was bad like that too and I changed his diapers constantly. The only thing that got rid of it was a prescription. Remember, if these are open sores and they are getting urine, etc. on them, it could cause an infection (which may be what is happening). I'd take him to the doctor right away.

Go to your pharmacy and ask for an ointment called calmoseptine. It works like a prescription. If you can't find it, Zinc Oxide is good, also Gold Bond Powder is amazing. Your doctor can also prescribe an ointment for you. Calmoseptine comes in a short white jar, the ointment is pink.

sounds serious if it is open skin, go to doc. For regular rashes of any kind on anyone any where, use Dr. Boudreaux's Butt Paste. Seriously, I know it is available at Walgreens probably CVS too. It even works on acne!
