First of all, if your recruiter has a study guide for you to use, get a new recruiter, that recruiter is unethical. Recruiters are not allowed to have study material. If your recruiter is willing to break one rule, how many others might be broken and screw you over. You want a recruiter that will give you brutal honesty, and do right by you.

The best way (if you NEED to improve, not want to improve) is to take classes at an Adult School or a Junior College. If you have taken the test, and scored over a 31, you are not authorized to retest unless there is proof you should have scored higher (i.e. you have a BS in Advanced Mathematics).

The ASVAB Study Guides are good if you knew the stuff and forgot it, just need to brush up. If you never knew the stuff, go take a class. Learn it. The books won't teach you the material.

You need a 25 or 35 out of 100 to pass, I forget which one hte Navy is I think it is 35. If you do not score a 35 you should not be there, hell if you do not score a 50, you should stay home. The ASVAB is the easiest test you will ever see.

Most recruiters have test guides you can use. Basically it tests everything you should have learned in a Avg. 4 years of High School. The better you do on it, the more job options you will have for "A" schools.

Don't even worry about it. My 10 year old niece can pass the test. It is only a tool used to place you in an appropriate MOS...heck even if you do bad, taking classes to improve it while your in the Navy are promotions points!

They are pretty easy I took it in high school (just to take it) because recruiters wanted to see what the scores will look like...I scored really really high (I was the Sal of my class)...I had recruiters calling me left and right...just study ur math, be able to pay close attention to detail, know a little about mechanics, and u should do fine...u will really need to know ur math though.....GOOD LUCK! there is also a website u can go to aslo....

There is a book with sample questions by Arco and Barron's. Check it out from your local public library or buy one from a book store chain like Border's or Barnes and Noble.

Then, study!

The only thing I can tell you is that the ASVAB is mainly common sense.
