will you watch my kids?.....lol It is very cheap think 80 hours thats 32 cents an hour. adults in sweatshops in china make more then that and twins is hard ( i know because i am one) . let THEm count there losses.. put in ad in the paper for 3x as much for one child and you will get endless responses trust me. Its a blessing in disguise now you could make $300 a week instead of $50.00. You are TOO good to them for them to be so unthankful

Yes, that's not only cheap, but a total rip off! The going rate when I was a babysitter (about 15 years ago) was $2/hr per kid. I currently pay $500 a month to send my daughter to daycare 4 days a week, for half days only. My sister needed a babysitter for her kids and asked my oldest son to do it and I told her I'd give her a major discount and he'll do it for $1/hr per kid. Which is still a really good deal for her, and give my kid an opportunity to make some money over the summer. My wife has a friend who watches kids for a discount $125 per week for 8 hours or less per day. So I say if you really need the money, do what you got to do. Or tell them to take their kids to a daycare service, and pay the $800 a month or more.

Most child care providers charge $150 a week PER CHILD. That amount of money is for a full time work period which is more than five hours a day. If these parents are having you watch there kids for 50 bucks a week and then they only paid you 10 buck for 3 days straight??? Some thing is wrong and I would get DSS involved. Start writting every thing down!!!! Your getting suckered!

They may as well just be your kids if their there that long and 50 bucks is too little amount. You should be getting like $150 a week for your services. Ask for at least $150 and tell them that's not even a fraction of what they could be spending on regular day care programs. If they have a problem with that then tell them to find someone else. That's being really irresponsible on their behalf what their doing to those kids.

Lets say $6 an hour for 50 hours that's $300, $50 is a steal and they are taking advantage of it. They won't find anyone else to do what you were doing for $50. If they do, I'd be very concerned about the level of childcare their kids will be getting. You are undervalueing your services. If you don't put a value on it others won't either. At this rate you're barely getting $1 an hour.

they were taking advantage of you!
don't be sorry, you were sticking up for yourself!

just give them a call and ask if they intend to bring the twins back to you for care. if so, then tell them that you would like to set up some guidelines.
if they were taking their kids to an actual day care, then they would have a fee to pay for every minute, half-hour or hour after the "pick-up" time. they wouldn't be allowed to leave their kids there overnight and they would have to pay what the day care charges, not what they want to pay. so, here's your list:

--the kids need to be picked up by "blank time" at the latest. any time after that is extra and a "blank fee" will be added.
--the kids will not stay the night here unless i am notified in advance "blank days notice" and this will be "blank fee".
-- the kids will have the following provided for them here, but you need to bring the rest.....(then list what meals you will provide and if you want the parents to provide diapers, snacks, juice boxes, etc )

hopefully, this will teach them not to take advantage of someone and that you will not be walked over any longer.
seriously, $50/wk for twins all day everyday!! that's ridiculous. you were probably saving them 200-300 bucks a week in daycare! they should be kissing your feet!

take care and i hope it all works out.

When I provided child care out of my home I charged $2.00/hr for one child. So , yes 50.00 for both of them is cheap. I also had parents that did what they are doing to you...never quite knowing when the kids were going to be picked up. I at one point I drew up a "contract" that I had parents sign that pretty much said after a certain point of being late the fee would be higher. As for them not being back today. Try calling them..just saying I thought the kids were going to be here today ..I hope all is ok. And just see what they say to you in regards to what happened today or when they are going to be back. Hope some of this helps.

I do daycare at home and YA that is CHEAP!!! I charge $210 a week for 2 kids. You're losing out. Think about the expenses that come from those 2. Food, water, and to replace the things that get broken. Just to name a few.

Way too little!!! And they are walking all over you! I applied for a job once as a bookkeeper in a day care center, 20 hours/week. And they wanted to charge me $253/week to bring my 3 and 1 year olds along for the 20 hours.

Your time is worth more than that!
