Who said yes? They're midges/midgies. Yes, they bite, but it's the difference between a money spider and a black widow. No, There are no mosquitos in Shetland or Iceland. See this link: -

My dad was stationed at Keflavik, Iceland...which meant I had to live there....and did for almost a year....no, mosquitoes are not a problem, have fun on your trip!
