Yes, and I did for six years. One thing you should be clear on is why you want to do it. It will be physically challenging. But if you make the most of the physical training and rise to the occasion, it can be a benefit for the rest of your life. You will only get out of it what you put into it. I personally became a jock. Also, you have to be prepared to be challenged by a lot of men. Just the sheer numbers of men to women ratio will challenge you. So mentally you have to be strong. It will not help you to go into Marine Corps for attention from men. Because beleive me, you will get more than your share. That is why it is important for you to have a career goal for yourself. It will develop some excellent character in you if you be the best you can be.

The Marines were initially considered those specialized naval forces trained for combat on the ground after being transported to the battle by ship. The Marines have a long and honorable history. Any woman with the physical stamina and mental and emotional fortitude can be a Marine. Good luck!

YES!! Women and 100% join the marines! Check out Marines.Com for more info! And remember, Marines are the Few and the Proud for a reason. One of these reasons is higher physical fitness requirements. So if you're serious about joining, start talking to your recruiter! He/She can help you get into the physical shape you'll need to be in, not only to qualify to be a marine, but to get through Boot Camp!

Yes. There are many women marines. Marines are a branch of the navy, but they don't like hearing that. They are designed as an assault force. Often 1st into combat because there are always "ready units". If you are thinking of joining. IF you get through boot camp you will NEVER be the same person you are now.

Sure ! Be warned it's NOT easy. The USMC is the hardest training in the military. Also the jobs for females are a bit more limited than in say the Navy or Air Force. Vist http://www.marines.com
