start young and make it a routine. if you've already allowed them to get away with not eating them try putting some cheese on the top. Not velveeta or american.... I mean like colbyjack or cheddar or some other real cheese.

CARROTS

My child wont touch carrots so I hide them all chopped up or purreed in his mashed potato.

PEAS

Put a big dollop of mash on the plate then make a face with for example sausage for mouth, peas for hair etc etc

Try the different types of peas my son hates garden peas but he will eat marrowfat peas and petit pois

Mix sweetcorn and sliced beans in with a tin of baked beans and tell the kids it's Cowboy Beans like cowboys eat in front of a campfire.

Food colouring can help altho the E numbers and additives don't make it a very good option

Melted cheese on green beans is a good way of getting veg and dairy into them and it's tasty for the whole family

I cook home made vegetable soup and I gave my son only tiny chunks that could barely be seen while the rest of us had normal sized chunks. We all kept making a big deal out of how nice the chunks were so my son thought he was missing out, that worked really well.

Get your kid to help you make dips like garlic mayo, salsa etc then give them a selection of sliced veg like carrot sticks to dip in them, the kids did some of the cooking which really seems to help them want to eat

More Fibre is always good for you, (No Extremes please)

Agree DisneyLover, hidding the Fibre(Vegetable is a good way.

I follow on by leading by Example. Children has few role models. When Parents, siblings re-get vegetables, you cannot expect children to love vegetables, as the odds ate against this happening.

When Children see their role model eat vegetables happily, they will also follow suit, wondering why this "foul" stuff is so popular, if he does not eat it, there will be none left for him,

Reverse sociology.

Find out what veggies they do like, give them choices.. there are so many ways to get the veggies you need daily, in juices, soups...Kids don't need to be forced to eat all vegetables, of course they are not going to like them all...

As they get older, there taste for foods becomes different, and gradually they do start to eat most veggies...

Feed them parsnips. They're lovely and sweet. Tell them that they'll be ugly without veg, that should work.

Or, just tell them that their idol loves veg.

tell them eat or you get nothing.

if they don't eat send them to bed with no dinner and no snack

I'm a nutritionist so I'm going to tell you, it is not good for your children to always allow them to drowned the food in condiments (like ketchup) or cheese. but teaching them to eat something healthy for them is good (turn on TLC and watch honny were killing the kids on monday night)

also them going to bed hungry once in a while is harder on mom then it is on the child, it wont harm them at all.

Don't give them a choice, and start off young. My daughter is now almost 2, and she loves fruits and vegetables. I don't ask her what she wants to eat, I just cook and give her what I think she needs.

I put them in casseroles with Cream of mushroom soup and cheese topped with ritz crackers. It makes the best squash casserole....my kids love it.
