Early popes often married, but it has been prohibited for several centuries. One of the most notorious was Alexander, who was the father of the Borgias, including Lucinda, who was supposed to be a poisoner. Her two brothers were notorious for their cruelty, and one of them may have murdered the other.

yes in the earlier times many popes had grown children and were also marries until about 500 years ago when the catholic church outlawed it for priest to be married. althought many priest have disobyed the churches orders and had illigiment childeren

Possibly some of the first may have been, supposedly it was allowed in the very beginning (though no-one is really sure) but now none have as far as I know

I know priests used to have wives and families until about 500 years ago or so, so it's possible that Popes did, too.
