The best thing to do is suck it up. A G.E.D. isn't equal to a high school diploma to every school or employer.
You are very likely going to run into other people who irritate you as much as this teacher does in the workplace or in another situation where you are not free to run for the hills because you don't like someone. This irritating person may be giving you a good opportunity to develop the skill of working with someone who is difficult for you to deal with.
On the other hand, if there is a significant reason that this person irritates you--you are being harassed, for instance--go to your guidance counselor or another person you trust such as your parents, another teacher, an adult friend--and get some help. For that matter, if you are in this teacher's class and you can't stand the person, see if you can transfer out, if that's the only way you think you'll be able to stay in school.

Suck it up. High school is so far from the concept of forever. This person, if your in high school, you should only have to deal with for less than a year and be done with them. Weigh your options, will you be missing out on the social aspects of high school or does it suck anyway. Do you need to get into a good college or not. You can always drop out and get your GED if you parents are cool with that but this could be a good opportunity to deal with one of the many, many difficulties life will hand you. Learn from it, by finding how you can deal with this person, and move on. Your going to meet as*holes all your life and cannot run from them all, you may at one point have to work for one to put food on the table. Start developing your skills to deal with life's hurdles now. I don't suggest by any means to kiss someones as*. Just see what you can do to make things better for yourself.

1. I am a younger teacher.
2. I'd hate to think that I would make my students drop out if I made them mad.
3. But heck, if they're such losers that they're going to drop out because they hate me, then good for them, eh?
4. Like everyone else has said, the GED is a hard test, and if you're so emotionally immature to consider dropping out instead of sucking it up for a year, then you probably won't pass the test.

Yeah, sorry, but I kind of have to agree with Jack. Sure there's the GED option (which is a HARD test, PLUS you have to pay for it) but honestly, everyone's had teachers they hated. Just deal with it - you only have to deal with the person a total of like, what, 4-5 hours each week? You don't have to suck up to him/her, but be respectful. They are the teacher and you need AT LEAST a decent grade.

Wait till the real world. Think you won't ever have to put up with people you don't like?
Your in high school to learn not like all your teachers. Why would you let one stupid person affect your whole life?
Have you talked to your counselor? Tried to get transferred to another teacher?
I think your going to have to "Suck this one up" It will be a good life lesson for you.

Go to your school advisor and get switched to another class.
Dropping out is never the answer
If you can't stand a teacher for an hour class, how do you expect to stand a boss in the real world?

you have no choice then and dropping the subject ain't your solution. it depends on why you can't stand your younger teacher. if the rest of your classmates share your sentiment, then something might be wrong from your teacher. but if you're the only one who gets pissed off, then you better study hard and burn your brows. Before you know it, you'll get high grades. Study hard ok.
