I would like to lose the mommy belly and about 30 pounds of extra weight I picked up over the winter. Any ideas on how to best accomplish that by about October?
Right now, I'm planning to do cardio 4 times a week and weight lifting about twice (not too good at that) a week. I'm also going to start eating more veggies and whole grain foods. Most importantly, I have set a goal of 50 push-ups and 50 sit-ups by the end of July. Is this goal realistic or do you think I'm pushing it too far? I have a tendency to do that.
Stats: 5'8 and 165 lbs

Okay, first off, you can't get rid of fat in one specific area. You inherit where you gain weight.
To have an ideal exercise plan it must include cardio, flexibility and weight training. I would suggest you keep your weight training to two days a week for now and fit in power yoga at least once a week--that's just fast paced yoga. If you are going the exercise video route, order the Weights I & II videos by Francesca Gern. Her workouts are solid and she isn't annoyingly perky or perfect.
Another thing, don't be afraid to be proud of your curves and your belly. Women are supposed to have round bellies.

I think you have to start off easy, set yourself easy goals, to boost your confience and to slowly ease your body into a new, more physical routine. You can lose the weight through a combination of exercise, and healthy eating. Try and do a whole range of exercise, to allow your body to burn off more caolories, and to ensure that you whole body improves equally, at a steady pace. I think really though, that if your serious about this you should see a professiional and get some advice.

I recommend yoga instead of some of the weight lifting and push ups and sit-ups. Your plan sounds realistic. Think about changing your diet to include mostly things that come directly from plants.

eat more fruits, they help flush out fats =D! you can make fruit salads, grilled pinapple, or even smoothies ^.^ also, drink lemon water and raw honey.. usually in the morning to help regulate metabolism or at night (I do this and it helps me sleep as well) as for exercise, try running (if you can't, work yourself up to it by doing sprints and jogging), jump-rope, and yoga!
