My family is going to Disney World next spring, and I was hoping that my WHOLE FAMLIY THAT IS IN A NEAR STATE! I am 10 and my brother is 19 with is 19-year-old girlfriend that I consider my sister, to come with us. After all, we haven't had a nice family vacation since I was 2. It's gonna be me, my mom, my 2 neices, my 2 sister-in-laws, and my other 2 brothers. But it won't be the same without my other brother and his girlfriend. They don't wanna go without them. They don't wanna go because when they were my age, a lot of the rides in Disney World were kiddie rides. My brother's girfriend wants to go, but she wouldn't feel right going without my brother. Could you tell me a way to just deal with it and go without him and his girlfriend or could you tell me a way to convince him to go without getting annoying?

My family went to Disney World when our son was in 2nd grade. It was so much fun we went back again the next year. Trust me, there is TONS and TONS of stuff adults can enjoy. Our son is now grown, and off in the Air Force. My husband and I are planning a trip back there this fall, just the two of us....and I can't wait! I think you all ought to try to convince your brother to go. Go to Walt Disney World websites and find stuff you know he would like and show him. Believe ME, it's NOT all kiddie rides. There are five separate theme parks there.....not just Magic Kingdom....Check out Pleasure Island....MGM studios, etc.. The fireworks shows all five parks put on nightly are totally awesome!

I'm 53, and I don't think I'm in my 2nd childhood....I just love to have fun......and Disney world definitely comes under the "Fun" category! If he doesn't go, he might really regret it.

All you can do is try to convince them that there's so much more than simply kiddie rides. It could be the very last full family event.
And you would so much like them to be a part of it. Amusement park visits can be very expensive. It could be an expense that perhaps he doesn't feel is workable at this time. And doesn't feel comfortable in mentioning that. If he is dead set on NOT going, you may need to accept his decision. If he's able to change his mind, let him know with great exuberance, how much you appreciate it!

Get online and show him the rides that are there... 90 percent arent kiddie rides at all... MGM and EPCOT are mostly large fun rides for adults... i was ther not too long ago... i know... And then there is pleasure island a cool night spot that new years eve every night... Disney is certainly not like anything you've ever experienced anywhere before... there are a million things to do... if he cant be happy there then he needs to grow up

Talk to your brother and tell him EXACTLY what you told us just now! Let him know how much this means to you and how badly you want to spend time with him. Knowing you need him should help him to go with everyone else. I went to Disney World last year and its NOT all kiddie rides!!!!! Its a great time and everyone has fun! Talk to him- pour your heart out and let him know how u feel!

If you go to Disney.com and have a DVD player, you can always send out for the free vacation DVD. On it, they break up the rides by ages and show great examples of each in each park. If you show your brother this, he can see that there's a lot more than kiddie rides there nowadays. :)

Hope this helps.

Disney World has changed a lot over the years....it is one big park split into four little parks some are aimed at different age groups. im 18 and went to MGM studios and had a blast. if he doesnt want to go try showing him the new attractions at MGM and Epcot maybe the Animal Kingdom too.

Get brochures and show your brother how much things have changed since he was last there. Heck, even if he doesn't want to go to Disney World, there's always the beaches and lots of stuff to do outside of thepark.

Let him know that there are whole boatload of new rides since his last visit. But if that doesn't convince him, just go without him. I guarantee you that once you start partaking of the fun and festivities, your brother and his girlfriend are gonna be the last things on your mind! It will be his loss - he's the one missing out!!!
