Drink something really cold....NO DAIRY products, that will make your throat worse because it causes phlegm to build up in your throat. Take a pain killer like Ibuprofen, aspirin or tylenol and suck on a cough drop that has anesthetic in it. Hall's defense makes a good sugar free one so you don't have to worry about your teeth rotting out on top of it.

Believe it or not...good old fashion honey and lemon has always worked for me. Take some honey and warm it up on the stove...squeeze some fresh lemon into it and drink at least half a mug. It will coat your throat and clear it up...try to put something around your throat (like a scarf or warm towel from the dryer) and lay down...you should feel better when you wake up.

Chloroseptic. It won't cure it but it'll keep it from hurting so bad.
