My inlaw sells pagan stuff, as well as outright, clearly labeled satanic stuff on ebay. My other friend thinks that shows like Medium and Charmed and Buffy The Vampire Slayer are not wrong. She is morman, not sure what that means exactly, but she does believe in God. Your thoughts? The Bible says no witchcraft or similar. Is lighting prayer candles and praying to the earth.... or buying stuff about spells the same as satan worship?

It's sad how many of you are attacking me. I wondered what everyone's take on this was, that's all. There are many Christians who believe in spirts, many wiccans who pray to God and probably many who, like my inlaw, believe in everything BUT God. Including wiccan and worshiping Satan.

This is of course from a christian point of view:
All of that is witchcraft. If you want to be a christian and have a happy succesful life then you have to stay away from those things. They are demonic and you will find that you soon have demons working in your life...

Paganism and Satan worship are not the same thing. Pagans don't even believe in Satan, they have their own set of Gods that have nothing to do with the Christian duality of Good and Evil.
Many Pagans (not all) worship the Earth as a primary deity. She is self-created and the Mother of us all. She is not Satan. If you want to say that She is Satan, well, that explains why so many Christians drive giant SUVs and throw their garbage out the window...
The Bible doesn't really say anything about witchcraft, for the record. (I sat around a campfire with a Jewish friend this weekend and we discussed this at great length.) What you are reading is #1 terrible mistranslations and #2 words that don't mean the same thing now as they did when they were mistranslated anyway. Get a copy of "The Interpreter's Bible" and you'll see what I mean.
The King Jame's Bible was commissioned to be lyrically beautiful, there was no need for accuracy.
There are many Christian witches in this world. I wouldn't touch Christian witchcraft with a 10-foot pole, for the record. It's some scary stuff. Don't look so surprised, the Bible is full of magic spells if you just read it.
As for Charmed, Buffy, etc. That bears no resemblance to real witchcraft, Wicca or Paganism anyway (Neither does Harry Potter), so why do you all get so excited about it? Shouldn't the Pagans be the ones getting offended? Yet we still let our kids watch it.

I'm going to try and answer this as well as I can without doing research. People who pray to the earth, light prayer candles, or even cast spells are not satanists. They do not worship satan. In fact, some may look at wiccans or other pagans not very differently from Christians. When Christians pray to God, they are in a form of meditation and a connection with what they believe is their creator. Those who are pray to the earth or to the goddess are doing the same thing. Lighting a candle or casting a spell is simply a more physical way of connecting to that spirit. One can look at the two in a similar light. Satan worship is a clearly different thing and should not be confused with those who believe that it is proper to thank the earth for its bounty.

The Bible doesn't specify the decription of what Witchcraft is not condoned. There are seven different definintions to Witchcraft.
The Witchcraft used by Wiccans is like Christian prayer only a little more interactive. Ill give you a link to a Wiccan ritual so you can see for yourself. I hope you watch it.

Paganism is one of the oldest beliefs around and was tied to satanism when Christianity began to spread.
TV shows are for entertainment and your given a choice to turn off the set.
Mormons are just another spin off of Christianity, there are many.
The best thing to do is to read and educate yourself on these questions. There are many books for and against and many people for and against. The zealots of these groups are the dangerous ones. They are blinded by their passion and cannot see the world around them. Some focus on the doom and despair of it while others focus on the love and glory, each side acknowledging the other as evil. There is good and evil in all we do. The choice is always yours.

No. Pagans don't believe in the devil, therefore how can they worship him? They can't. There is nothing evil or satanic about Wicca or Witchcraft or any other form of Paganism. Get a grip, get educated.

praying to the earth isn't satan worship its earth worship, which is just as wrong in the christian religion.
and shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer are not wrong in the christian religion, inaccurate deffinately, but not a sin to watch if you realise that its just a show, in fact they are very entertaining, except for charmed, that sucks

Lighten up, already. Are you one of those people who hate Harry Potter too? Does that then include almost EVERY Disney film (they all have magic and many have witches). No more Grimm fairy tales, either? What a dull world with no fantasies and imagination.
