we have a mitsubitshi 65 in hdtv ws 65817 it makes popping sound and i am tired of it help please?

we dont have surround sound hooked to it just a cable box brand new tv

And when you have followed Jimbobs advice then get a Tv tech to check the solder on the audio out chip !!!

Is it on all Channels? Does it do it on an aux input like DVD? Try to eliminate the source, It could be the cable box. Turn the cable box off, unplug it for a while, then plug it back in, turn it back on. See if it's any different.

replace it with a new one it might be a defect try it on a dvd see if the sound is still there then it's probably in the receiver
