because to truly believe, they would have to change and they are still too intent on having the desires of their corrupt heart. they want to experience the pleasures of sin for a season. it's just like a relative of mine who noticed an abnormality in her breast. she waited an entire year before finally going to the doctor. she had surgery, but here a year later she is eat up with cancer. ignoring something doesn't make it go away or make it not true, it just delays the inevitable, with dire consequences.

Even though the Bible is a good source of facts for Jesus' life, if someone does not believe in the Bible, then really there are no facts to go by. Everyone has a right to their own opinion and some choose to not believe in Him. This does not mean they are wrong. They might see you as being wrong for believing what you do. Everyone is different, so you will have to accept this -- not trying to be rude or anything.

I'm a Christian and I still take offense at your assertion that the "facts" are right in front of some people.
There are no "facts" when it comes to God. There is only faith. If there had been "facts" I would have come to my faith much much earlier.
Berating people for not believing in something they can't see doesn't make them want to come to your way of thinking. Trust me. I was beaten over the head with crap like this for years, and it was only the idea that there were Christians who didn't behave like that that made me decide to investigate.
All you do with posts like these is turn people off. Is that spreading the word? I guess techincally it is, but I assume that when God instructs us to do so, he means in a way that will make people actually want to believe it.

First of all, it's always easier to not do than to do. It's easier to not weed the garden than to weed the garden. It's easier to not believe in anything in particular than to believe in something specific.
That said, I'm not a Christian, and it's not because of laziness, but rather that I don't see any facts, as you say, right in front of me.
If there were facts. If there were evidentiary proof. If God came down and told me directly what to believe, I most certainly would believe.
But there aren't. Instead, Christians are told to believe in things unseen and unproven. Which is fine. Go ahead. But don't criticize me for not following. I don't believe in Santa or the Tooth Fairy either.
To be completely fair, I do believe in some sort of God in the traditional deist form based on absolutely no proof at all, so I don't come from a superior position, logically. But I'll freely admit that I believe because it pleases me to do so, not because there's evidence for my beliefs.
And as for having a truly happy life... I've got one. Right now. I'm not waiting for future perfection, or an eternity in the clouds or whatever. I don't have to sacrifice now for rewards in the next life. So while there's no 'happiness meter' that can say who is happier than whom, I would say I am happier than most of the Christians I've met thus far in my life, none of whom had peace passing my understanding if they had any peace at all.

Yes, of course. If you don't believe in God you don't have to feel bad about the sin in your life or the bad things you do to other people.
Look at how Christians are viewed by the atheists here.
Being a Christian is not easy in a world like ours.
In China, Christians are jailed and sometimes killed for their beliefs. And some atheists here would probably ship us all over there if they could.

Actually it is much easier to belive in it than it is to deny it. I believed in it without even thinking from as far back as I can remember. It took a lot of studying to realize it was all crap.
Oh, and about torment. I was more tormented as a Christian than I have ever been since.

Because it accepting Christ means that you have to commit to something. A lot of people have a problem with committing. Also, the Bible does say narrow is the path.
But what you say about having a truly happy life is not 100% correct. Many Christians, myself included have many struggles and problems. However, I do have the support of Christ to get me through these times.

I believe Jesus exsisted as a man. As the son of god, however? Not a chance. You say the facts are right in front of us. I think you're confusing personal belief with fact. If that's what rocks your boat, fine, good for you.

Its easier for them to deny Christ then to be held accountable for their sins.To not know Christ is to not know you are a sinner. If you believe in Christ you must die daily to your sinful pleasures for example.... such as having sex,If you believe Gods word you wont have sex before marriage. Now that being said how many people will turn their back on God knowing that is His will for their life? All because of sexual acts Men and women will burn. That's only one subject.Jesus said..if you deny Me, I will deny you before my Father. And reading this God will hold you accountable, because if you know and deny up to the very end of your life without repenting He's going to bring it to your remembrance.
