I am looking at getting a new stove. One that I am looking at says it has for burner type ceramic glass, the other one states ribbon.
Can anyone tell me what the difference is if any and which is better?

Ceramic Cook-tops of any type, as nice as they may look are just not practical. In addition to buying the cook top, special ceramic cookware with perfectly flat bottoms must also be purchased and all one's old pots and pans become useless. If anything spills it's very difficult to clean up. They are slow to heat up and slow to cool down. I suggest a gas stove if you're into cooking in any serious way.

I have an electric smooth top ceramic glass range. While I do like the look of the ceramic glass, whenever anything spills onto it during cooking -- I try to wipe it up right away or else it cooks on and it harder to get off when the top cools down.

Also, sometimes grease is harder to clean off it, it seems to keep smearing around after numerous wipes. This is where I cheat a little and use a product like soft scrub and a sponge to clean the top. Gets all the dirt off, and I have NEVER had a problem even though the manufacturer says not to use it. Oh well. I never listened to or followed directions well in school anyway!

I married a man who had a ceramic top and I hate the stupid thing. I like the electric coil burners because they didn't heat up the whole top and you can do canning on that type of burner. But that's just my opinion.
