You might need to strengthen the muscles in that area. Try doing some back exercises specific to that area.

other options - could be the way you are sleeping or a desk chair that doesn't support well. Make sure you have a shair with lumbar support.
Kidney pain is low on your back, and on both sides, so it doesn't sound like that.

You could have pulled something, pinched nerve, maybe your mattress sucks, bad posture, bladder infection? My middle back hurts a lot, but I'm pregnant, so that's what it means to me. Hope you figure it out.

You could have a kidney infection, or just wear bad non-supportive shoes, it depends, mayby you should go see a doctor.
