Why do girls cut them selfs????

I have a Girlfriend who is a cutter and she says she does it to take the pain away from her past or that it helps her to deal with stress I have been with this person for 9yrs. Sometimes I do not even know when she does it I really do not think they do it for attention, I use to but I do not now. This person may have a post traumatic stress disorder I do not know but she has been going to therapy for about 3 yrs now and it helps her cope. She has not cut on herself for quite sometime. They are not trying to kill themself either unless they cut the wrong way but I guess it could happen. Just give her lots of support. Good luck.

It's not just girls, my son was a cutter too. It's because they have issues that they don't know how to deal with and so they cut to get some sort of relief, distraction or control over the situation.

Its not just girls who cut them selfs but most girls do....Because like either sumthing bad is happening in their lives and its things that they feel they can not handle and feel like knowone is their to help and be their for them and they just want to get rid of the pain they feel so they cut them selfs.. And to feel the pain on them, they think their getting rid of the bad things...

It's not just girls you asshole. When people cut themselves most dont do it for attention, and the ones who do it for attention arent really cutters they probably just do it when they know it can be seen so that people look at them and feel bad. But real cutters, people who are actually mentally suffering, do it to let anger out. If they dont do it to themselves they wil let anger out on other people and let it out in the wrong way. So, cutting themselves lets out anger in a secret way so that nobody knows that they are upset and so that no attention is drawn to themselves.

Cutting releases endorphins in the brain which leads to an opiate type effect. My sister in law cut to relieve emotional pain she was feeling due to the fact both of her parents died as did her grandmother who helped raise her. It is common for people with bipolar/manic depression to cut. Help your friend seek help from a mental health professional.

Because assholes like you decide they are better than the ones down on their luck. They get to feeling everyone hates them, not just you assholes, and they take the pain away by spilling blood from their own wrists.

as for me i done that already but just once...there are some girls cut them selfs bcoz of being desperate...and also sometimes,too much love can push you doing this thing...so girls be careful,too much love is dangerous!!!!
