simple really an overbite is when your top teeth close over or in front of your bottom set, the oppisite is an underbite, it is most common to have an overbite, I have an overbite my little bro has an underbite been that way for us over 20 years can,t really be a big problem, maybe just effects the way your teeth wear down

I apologize ahead of time for being a butt. When you bite, stand in the mirror and look at your bottom teeth if you can't see much of them you have an overbite...Approximately 75% of the bottom teeth should show...this of course is a judgment call based on averages. An "Overjet" is when your front top teeth are too far forward. People always get this confused. Ovebite really isn't overly important assuming you don't grind your teeth and aren't in need of a partial. Severe cases can be detrimental to the teeth though.

An overbite is if your top teeth are over your bottom teeth and your top teeth show the most.
An underbite is when your bottom teeth jet out in front of your top teeth like a bulldog (sometimes less severe)

Can you see more of one set (bottom or top) of teeth than the other if you have your lips very far open?
