A thesis statement in an essay is a sentence that explicitly identifies the purpose of the paper or previews its main ideas.

I could never think of an Thesis statement to save my life, that was the worse part of my papers. My only suggestion would be to pick something easy, and with alot of info on it, like books or the internet, where you can easily get references and fun stuff like that (sarcastic).
