Take distance

You need to move on. It can be hard. Maybe I have an obsessive personality and don't realize it, but often when I break up with somebody, I notice a great void in my life. I realize that I've been dedicating way too much of my life - both when I am with the man, and when I am away from the man.

So, the key is to break out of the new routine you have established for yourself while seeing this guy.

Step one is to stop seeing him. Cut all communication, if possible. You have caller id, right?

Step two is to reinvent yourself, and take care of yourself. Do something nice for yourself, like go to a day spa, or get your hair done... something to immediately make you feel better about yourself.

Then, step three is to invest in a long-term plan to improve yourself, such as a weight-loss plan, or a membership to the gym, or enroll in dance class. If you prefer less physical things, enroll in a creative writing class, as long as you don't use the writing as a vehicle to constantly revisit your pain from leaving this guy.

Find your friends again. I know you must have neglected them while dating this guy, no? Spend time with them, have fun!

Lastly, you should wait about six months before seeing somebody again... at least, that is what I recommend. That is optional because you know yourself and I don't, but personally, I always need time to 'reset.'

I don't know if you will ever stop loving this person, but you can always get out of the relationship. You will always have feelings for this person and love this person, but if you know this person is not right for you then you need to get out of the relationship and find someone who is right for you.

Those you truly love can never love you back the way you love them, it's gonna be pretty emotional and painful, making up your mind id another thing, tell yourself that you'll be fine without him, indulge in more recreatiional activities, hang out more often and try to move on. You'll be just fine

It takes time, lots of time, but the best thing to do is get away from that person. It will be hard emotionally, but after a few weeks you will begin to see that person wasn't all that great anyway. Obviously you realize the person isn't good for you so that is a start.

You should not have them in any aspect of your life. Don't go anywhere they go, don't answer the phone when they call (screen your phone calls). You'll see it will get easier every day. Do things to get that person off your mind. You realizing this person isn't good for you is the first step. KEEP GOING.

Keep telling yourself that you will never get from this relationship what you want and are looking for. Staying with this person will mean that you will not be happy. Ultimately you will have to compromise what you want to be with this person. You only have one life to live. Make sure you spend most of it with people that make you happy.

Don't even THINK of trying to forget him/her. it'll be of no use. It will make u miss him/her even more.
Instead, try bonding with friends, hang out in new places, keep urself busy...
u know, u can't just shut ur feelings by avoiding how u feel, u'll end up making urself weak....
instead confront ur emotions, and get over them !

Cut ties... take them off your email, messanger lists, delete them out your phonebook. Don't drive by their house, or work or call their friends or momma, don't look at their myspace, yahoo or livejournal. The less you know of their daily life the easier it will be.
