The pattern that God followed in making man was Himself, " in our image". What is this image? In Hebrew " image" refers to spiritual rather than physical. Mankind is not created as a duplication to God, but in His shadow image. God has bestowed on human beings an immaterial, invisible, essence. We are endowed with certian rational, moral, and relational capacities, which God empowers with the spark of life. As the image of God, humans are the only creatures who uniquely reflect God. From a theological point of view, the soul is the real person, existing within a biologically living body.

Hi, rewind the video tape Genesis 1:26 Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, [b] and over all the creatures that move along the ground."
27 So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them.
28 God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground."
You see Man had to be both spiritual as well as fiscal to rule over creation, the only thing then man did not know about good and evil yet plus did not have everlasting live like God that came later with faith in Jesus.

I agree totally. In Genesis 1:26 And God said let US make man in OUR image after OUR likeness. us and our is the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Yes he is our godfather, the Supreme Soul. having all the qualities only and we all are HIS spiritual children, the souls . we souls go on taking birth after birth according to our deeds whereas HE does not come in this cycle. He is also point of light and we souls are also a point of light. We both have the same qualities but He is ocean and we are drops. Both father and children are of the same image.

Yeah, God made man in his image. God is a spiritual not physical being. He made man in the same spiritual image.

Those words have been taken by many to mean we look, act, walk and talk like God.
But I see my image in the mirror every morning and it does not walk or talk or breathe. And if I turn out the light it ceases to exist.
I guess all of that fits your definition.

yes because the soul is spirit and your body is the temple for it to live in and god created it so you can worship him in spirit and truth.
