READ THIS.........i use huggies....i hate pampers...i go to sam's club and buy a huge box of huggies for like $26 and it will last me about a 3-4 weeks...its the cheapest way and the best way cuz u get a good brand and they r comfortable on him...what i do is change him right b4 i lay him down around 7 pm and he sleeps thru the night til about 6 am..they r super absorbant and i have yet to see any type of rash on him..and i have never had a leak problem, except when they get to small for him ,they will leak..if his diapers leak,go to the next size...it has worked best for me...and i am a first time mom....Malakai is 6 months old this friday....oh and congrats on ur lil ....=)....................ps. heres his schedule if u need a guideline to help...baby's love structure , he was so cranky until i got him on a routine, now he is teething and still in a good mood !!.........................6am ;diaper change, bottle, brush his teeth/gums, lay down for a nap @ 7am(wakes @8 for a poopy and then i change him and lay him back down).....9am;cuddle time, bottle(@9:45-10am), activity time, diaper change right b4 nap time @ 11am.....12noon he wakes up, we cuddle and i read to him, lays down for a nap @1pm....2pm;diaper change, bottle, activity time, nap time at 3:30pm.....4:30pm diaper change, activity time, @5:30 bottle, bath, fresh jammies and a clean diaper, brush his teeth/gums,cuddle with mommy and daddy for about 10 min.,then lay him down for the night...its called "EASY"(Eat,Activity,Sleep, then "You" time)..its designed for both the baby and mommy in mind so the baby gets what he needs and then the mommy gets a break too...it has helped me BUNCHES!!! i found it on the website http://www.babywhisperer.com/ good luck with everything.

I really love Pampers but I have learned that Luvs are made so much like a Pampers anymore and they are a few dollars cheaper and work just the same as Pampers, when going to the lake the other week I had her in Luvs and when she came out of the water and I took the diaper off NO water leaked out!!!!(I usually use little swimmers but that was just amazing to me)

Yes, girl...Pampers Swaddlers. Don't get the regular Pampers. The swaddlers are stretchy on the sides so they're more comfortable and they pee out of them less. Trust me, my little boy is almost 6 mos and was born 13 wks early. He's been in them awhile!!

I attempt to apply diaper rash cream/ointment each and every time i adjust my infant's diaper. besides the undeniable fact that, I easily have used Vaseline a pair of times only to work out if it makes any enormous difference and that i got here upon that Vaseline is only just about as good as diaper rash cream or ointment and the better section about it really is that it is also less intense priced than diaper rash cream! How about that for some good information? thus far as infant powder is worried, I easily have examine in a touch one mag at the moment that newborns and children can surely inhale that stuff and probably choke on it. no longer good! i guess it easily relies upon on how a lot powder you easily use. it really is a shame too because i purchased fairly some bottles of infant powder previously my infant become born.

hummm
mine didn't sleep all night until they were 6 months old....up until then they had a nappy change around 1 am

i didn't switch diaper brands just for overnight control, the ones that worked good in the day time worked fine at night, as long as i changed them right before they went to sleep

I never picked a brand and stuck to it...but i did buy name brands....mostly with coupons, because diapers are a big expense..

right now i have a 2 year old that is potty training and i NEVER have any trouble with goodnites.....

i think the urine leakage problem comes from the amounts they drink at night....i would introduce cereal at bedtime and give him less liquid, so there won't be a problem

Pampers tend to be a little smaller and tend to "leak" as the baby approaches the upper end of the weight class the diaper is designed for. Huggies have a more generous cut and are more leak resistant, especially for the more active babies.

You know, there's so much hype about which diaper is better. As long as the diaper catches the waste, it's good. The issue is which brand hugs the legs better to prevent "butt blowout" where the waste seeps out the sides.
And talking to any parent, every baby has had a butt blowout once or twice or more. As much as babies move around and squirm, waste always tend to leak.
Any diaper would work. Don't have to go with the most expensive or most advertised.

I found Pampers Cruisers work best on leaks. One tip I recieved on overnight leaks worked great, no matter what brand...put the little guy in a diaper one size larger that he wears during the day, It will be much more absorbent.

Swaddlers are the best, but when he gets out of stage 2 then he will be in the cruisers, they are great. (don't buy the plain pampers, i don't like those, they are sized different and fit my son funny.)

I have a baby boy and I tried everything. Huggies worked well but surprisingly I like the White Cloud or Walmart/Sams Club cheap ones!! Pampers did not work well for my baby.
