If your dog is old its a mole.
If your dog is young then its probably a mousquito bite!!!

Some older dogs get little 'thingies' like a wart on their bodies.
Some could have a tick under the skin.
Some dogs have a fatty tissue sac. check to see if it is hard or soft. If it is soft it has fluid in it. Also could be a cyst.
I'd keep an eye on it for a little while and next time you take it in for an exam let your vet look at it. If it changes in a week or so... or if it is red, swollen looking; get it looked at.
You can contact your veterinarian and ask the nurse by describing it in detail to her.

Could be a mole or a bug bite.
Does it seem to bother the dog? Does he/she itch or lick at it a lot or anything? If not, I wouldn't worry unless it continuously grows.

Just remember that is is heart worm season, and heart worm is past threw mosquito bites, make sure that you have your dog check if he is not on heart worm medication and becomes sick or if lump stays for more then a week.

If you dog is pure bred, it is not uncommon for them to develop noncancerous cysts. Could be anything though, may want to have your vet check it out.

It could be a wart. Dogs can have a wart virus same as humans.

Ant bite by a fire ant, if you have fire ants in your area, or your dog may have removed a tick, or it is still there, but small, or... Could be about anything.

my lab has two bumps like that ... when we were at the vet, he said they were extra nipples...it happens to lots of dogs.
