Have one of those sound massage machines, that has the sounds of the forest, or the ocean, or a breeze over a quiet field, etc. I turn that on at night and fall to sleep with it going. It's real calming, and helps me fall asleep, and have good dreams. I've always had trouble with "night terrors", and feeling worse when I wake up in the morning, than when I went to sleep the night before. Not so much a conscious mantra, as a subconscious peace while I sleep, which really helps me day-to-day.

Is it mantra for calming? I thing it's given to be more connected with Got, to develop love to Him. As for me... I like to relax in the forest, just walking and listening birds, or siting at the lake. I don't have ocean hear to listen ti waves sound. Yeah, should be some sound to calm down and don't do anything physically. Also there should be personal relationship around you. It helps to keep mind peaceful also. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!

The reverberation from the bottom of the stomach, that particular frequency contained in pronunciation and can only found in that sound, sends a message to your brain to calm you down.
It has nothing to do with religion. I do not believe in religion. It is just a sound that was discovered some 5000 years ago. It is getting to be popular now and it is getting rediscovered.

I calm down being near my wife. Proper sleep. It used to be a good hit of grass, but I haven't touched that stuff in year. (It works, but my life is different now). And yes, time passsing helps.

Usaully i just sit in the corner of my room put all the windows down and blast some metal music...after a while i feel regular and human again.

Damnit , Damnit , Damnit, Damnit , Damnit , Damnit , now take two deep breathes and start over again.....
works for me...really it does..
and when I close my eyes at night and try to go to sleep I do the say thing and envision " Damnit " sometimes I relax and go right to sleep and but mostly " Damnit " excites me to much and I have to get a new one in my head to let me calm down so I can go to sleep
