I know there have to be a few good fights out there. (Disregard politics for this one.)

I think that the best possible matchup that could be put together right now is Nikolay Valuev vs Wladimir Klitschko. I realize that this may not be the most interesting fight for the American boxing fans but the truth of the matter is these two men are dominating heavyweight division at the moment and it would be great to find out who is the best.

It may also be interesting to see a rematch between Lamon Brewster and Wladimir Klitschko but given the shape of the both fighters in recent matches I seriously doubt that there's any chance that Lamon could pull another suprise. He would most likely be dominated and completely controlled and in the end get knocked out just like Chris Byrd.

I can think of one more matchup that wouldn't perhaps get so much media attention but it would be really great to see; sort of a match of the future champions and that's Samuel Peter vs Alexander Dimitrenko. Peter is one of the most powerful boxers and hardest hitters in boxing today and Dimitrenko is a very talented young Ukrainian fighter who lives and trains in Hamburg (he's trained by Fritz Sdunek). He's 6' 7 tall, very athletical and has style almost identical to Klitschko brothers. Dimitrenko is undefeated in 21 professional matches while Peter has only one loss (to W. Klitschko) in 27 fights. This would in my opinion be an outstanding matchup.

Samuel Peter verses Hassim Rahman would be an excellent fight I think especially after seeing Hassim in shape against his fight with James Toney. I don't know who would win for sure --maybe Peter. If Joe Mesci gets back to 100% would like to see him possibly against James Toney but I think Toney would hand him his first loss. Vladimir Klitchko verse Calvin Brock might be good as well. At any rate this would tighten up the division a little more.

For boxers still boxing: Vinny Maddolone and Shannon Miller. This was an all out blood and guts fight for your life match. They knocked eachother down a combined 5 times, it was crazy.
For retired boxers: Tyson and Larry Holmes. Larry Holmes beat Ali and should have fought tyson but retired before, this would have been a good fight. Or for retired and not retired boxer: Wladimir Klitchko and Rocky Marciano, would be a good fight between to hard hitters.

I'm not really sure. i think i'd have to agree with Valuev vs. Klitschko, as....sad...as that sounds. lol. The heavyweight division really needs someone.... i mean, ring magazine doesnt even recognize a heavyweight champion right now, even thogh there are what, like 5 or sumthing. thats nuts...to think noone is good enough to dominate.

but ya...either those two or maybe Samuel Peter vs. Vinny Madalone...idk, just something about two powerful, heavy hitters without much defense. SOunds like it owuold make a tough, fairly intense slug-fest, reminiscent of Dempsey-Firpo or somehtingl iek that. idk
