It all depends on what type of activities you want to get involved in. You could always call the local charities and ask how you can help, or call the hospital or library. You can also look up local service organizations such as the Lion's Club, Elk's Club, Eagle's Club, Kiwanis, Shriner's, Rotary Club or Knights of Columbus. The projects they do every day vary widely. Becoming a member of one of these organizations, or working with these organizations can get you in touch with different volunteer opportunities that you wouldn't have thought of before.

I volunteer with Teen Force (visit http://www.teenforce.net for more info). You can virtually and activly volunteer. Email me, or check out the site if you're interested and I"ll help you get started.
Right now we're collecting things for care packages for soldiers. We also do car washes, and the manager is setting up a battle of the bands fundraiser.

Find a non-profit org you want to support and find out what you can do for them. Get involved with your church. Call your school district. Help out an elderly neighbor.
